Time Management
1 John 2:15-17 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world–the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life–is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
The pressures of life are great
We are driven to succeed;
We are told it is the measure
Of attaining what we don’t need.
I am feeling that pressure
Weighing my life in many ways;
What is really important to me
How do I spend my days?
Time management is the struggle
For 20+ years it has been my days;
It is the nature of my business
Life on call in so many ways.
Now the heart is different
My life is a J.O.B.;
I still love what I do
But it doesn’t really define me.
My heart is elsewhere now
It is sharing the Hope within;
It is sharing the Redemption
It is sharing Forgiveness of sin.
The world presses hard
Shows me troubles and trophies too;
Satan’s kingdom here on earth
Wants me to have his worldview.
This battle of my time
Will likely never go away;
But it keeps me centered and focused
On spending it with Christ every day.
