Dare to be different

Day 30 of our media Fast. You made it I hope. It has really been a joy to go without the headlines of the mayhem of every newscast. I find myself trying to catch the weather, and then change the channel right back again. I do believe something as simple as that, can make a difference in your every day. I hope and pray that God has used these short reads to speak to you too. I will let you all know later today how it is going to continue on. Be the Light today and dare to be different!

Dare to be different

John 15:18-19    If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

Hate – a four letter word that most of us relate prejudices of some sort. It has become a ‘popular’ term these days in our anger filled society. Hate is genuinely a term of Satan and one of his greatest tools, for it is the exact opposite of what Christianity should reflect worshiping our God, whom is the God of love. Therein we have why hatred is so common today, in the world is so far from God. If you accept and proclaim Christ, you posses a Light inside you that makes you different from the non-believer, therefore unknowingly you will become hated by those that reside in darkness.

Do you feel as though you are different in many situations? Do you feel as though you are even being persecuted at work, for being a Christian? Do not conform to this world, and let them drag you down. Matthew 5:15 tells us “Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.” You are where Christ wants you to shine. Your sphere of influence are those you are surrounded by every day. He has placed you there to become a Light in the darkness. What Christ has placed inside you makes you different. “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:12) Dare to be different.
