Will you stand for truth?

Will you stand for truth?

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

I find myself deeply troubled over an ever changing world and nation I find myself in. At this point in time, my freedoms have been taken away at levels I never imagined. I am supposed to be remembering and thankful today for those who have died to provide and protect the freedoms that have been removed. I feel as though we are dishonoring them in this state of division and corruption in the government they served to the end, while we are sitting idly by while freedoms are removed. I fear my nation is falling, corruption at it’s core with sinister manipulation to obtain power over it’s people. I believe we don’t know what to believe, because we have been lied to so much, and the truth changing ever day, every story contradicting the one before. The media can’t seem to keep up with their lies, so they constantly change the truth, and people believe it…..

I do believe in Truth, in a difference between right and wrong. I believe the truth cannot be changed, cannot be manipulated to wander till it fits the situation. I believe Truth is a moral compass, a difference that can be denied, but what determines right from wrong. Jesus Christ proclaimed he is the Truth, his teachings the moral compass by which we measure, and the Bible is full of those teachings. John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Sadly the church has failed the exclusivity of that teaching in many American pulpits today. Many preachers have proclaimed all paths lead to god, preached hyper-grace that god loves everyone, preached tolerance of sin and denied the consequences of Hell, preached a moment in time of raising hands and continuing in lifestyles of sin merits Heaven, not the denying of one’s cross and making Jesus the Lord over one’s life. There will be many Christians denied access to Heaven, for they just proclaimed the benefits of Christianity and not the costs of discipleship.

What if you changed today, changed to focusing on the never changing attributes of Jesus Christ and the truths found in the Bible? What if he began to open your eyes to the differences between right and wrong, opened your eyes to your own sin, opened your eyes to things keeping you from intimacy with him, opened your eyes to darkness around you, opened your eyes to the truths of the Bible you had skimmed over before? God may call you to stand for him, to stand for truth in a society denying it. 2 Corinthians 13:8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth. Will you not change, and stand for truth, no matter the cost?
