Delusional
2 Thessalonians 2:11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
What do you think? Do you think delusional would be a good word to describe society today? Do you think if you said no, you might be under delusion yourself – LOL….kinda. I under no means would prophetically speak here, would not use this passage out of context to fit some agenda, would not proclaim to accurately expound this chapter of second Thessalonians, much less be stupid enough to proclaim the second coming of Jesus Christ, because He doesn’t even know. Mark 13:32 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. But….how do we explain what we are witnessing in society today, outside of somewhat delusional in any context? How do we see people believing pretty much anything, even at the expense of everything? How can society have become so blind to simple truths, and become argumentative against any level of absolute truth? The answer might be somewhat in the passage above; we might possibly be the transitions phase of the 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first; It would be hard to present a clear defense of what we are witnessing today among us, the seemingly lack of any spine of truth, only the fluid movements of the moment, believing anything that feels good, doesn’t offend any, and works well for oneself in the given situation. 2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
2 Timothy 3:1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
Being a Christian is not going to make you popular. Being a Christian is not going to make life easy. Being a Christian will likely make your life harder, because you have declared yourself an enemy against the ruler of this world, and have declared yourself a soldier for Jesus Christ, the One who defeats the ruler of this world. Are you willing to stand for truth, even when it becomes difficult? Are you willing to believe the Bible is the Absolute Truth, the measure by which you judge all of life around you? 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. If you truly pursue God daily in prayer and his Word, your eyes will be opened to the truth, and the delusions around you. You will begin to have God’s eyes, seeing things on a smaller scale than he sees, yet developing an intimacy with the One who controls all of life. You will begin to desire sharing these truths to all God places in your circle, and being used by God to rescue some from this crazy, delusional world we live in. #comeLordJesuscomequickly
