She’s about to blow

She’s about to blow

Jude 3-4 Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.4 For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
It is notable in my Study Bible these words in the introduction of Jude’s epistle: “Few books in the New Testament have more to say to our generation than the Epistle of Jude. Distorters of the faith will find the book distasteful because of its warnings and uncompromising stance against defectors from the truth of Jesus Christ. But to those who approach the book with receptive hearts, Jude’s words speak as clearly and forcefully today as they did almost two thousand years ago.” Needless to say, we should pay close attention to this short read; to head it’s warnings and recognize these days as the fulfilling of this epistle in the mocking of God in our nation. Under the ruse of political correctness and acceptance has come Satan’s victories of denying the truths found in God’s Word.

There is a peace to understanding that God is allowing all of this evil in today’s world. Everything that is happening has passed through God’s sovereign hands; everything that has and will happen is drawing us closer to Jesus’ return. All we see before us is Satan peaking before his ultimate and final defeat. Being a gearhead, the analogy of a motor comes to mind; it runs it’s best right before it blows sometimes. As those in the faith, we are just called to defend our faith, and remain steadfast in our faith; to remain rooted in truth and not be swayed by the false teachings of today. 17 But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. 18 They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” 19 It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit. 20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. 22 And have mercy on those who doubt; 23 save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.

Spend some time today in God’s Word and let him strengthen your faith. Pray for him to reveal truth to you and share those truths with others. Read the epistle of Jude; let it sink in as you reflect the world you see around you today. It is all part of God’s plan and you play your part by defending the faith; proclaiming truth, and sharing the hope of the Gospel to those that are lost.
