Political Judgement
Mark 4:39-40 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”
I am about ready to pull off the grid until the next election; I simply don’t get wound up in the political debates because I know God has designed or allowed whomever is in power; He is in control and will use whomever to fit into his purpose for humanity. I truly wonder if the phrase “the lesser of the two evils” was coined in respect to elections. The two current leading candidates on both sides are living far from how God would want leaders of the Old Testament to lead the kingdoms God had given them. The Old Testament is full of the proof of how God used leaders to punish society, and how God punished bad leaders. The Old Testament is full of the proof that God allowed every leader into power, and how God’s purpose was fulfilled through them. Are we about to be punished as a nation by our “choice” of leaders for turning our backs on God? I fearfully, truly, believe we are about to stand before the judgement seat of God as a country who is now mocking God. Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. We as a nation are mocking God in our viewpoint of open homosexuality on it’s highest levels; marriage, churches, and pulpits. We as a nation have turned to our idols of everything around money and ourselves at any levels. We have openly slaughtered millions of babies, and now evidence of an even more heinous crime, of selling the body parts for profit. God is sickened, angered, and will judge our nation that was founded on Christian principles. A nation that was blessed, missed the blessings origination, and will be punished for our mistake.
I have a primary spiritual gift of faith; 1 Corinthians 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. I can be labeled dumb, simple, blind, many things, but my faith gives me the ability to ignore the accusations. What gift to you have? Are you using your gift to draw glory to God? Are you using your gift to defend your God? We are entering the days of Christian persecution in our nation. We are entering a time when if you stand for Biblical truth, you will be hated by those closest to you. You will be labeled many things, you will loose friends, “But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.” (1 Peter 3:14)
Are you ready to stand for truth? Are you willing to be persecuted for truth? Are you ready to finish out your days here living as a true disciple of Jesus Christ? Is your desire eternal? Are you willing to sacrifice this life for the next? By the grace of God I don’t have any hate in me for anybody that does not believe in Jesus Christ or the Biblical truths found in God’s Word. No words I can speak can argue anyone into repentance and faith. God has to pursue your heart first, before you will repent and believe. My prayer is that He does, and that you respond to that tug, and spend the rest of your life encouraging others by the good news found in the forgiveness of sins by those who will repent and believe.
